Things you'll experience

Discover Ålesund through its most iconic landmarks: the city’s oldest church, Ålesund Kirke; the stunning Jugendstilsenteret, once the Swan Pharmacy; and the postcard-perfect view from Hellebroa bridge over the Ålesund Strait.

During the tour, we will face history at Løvenvold Theater, and meet the legendary Viking Rollon in the city park. We’ll finish the walk with a stroll down Kongens gate, Ålesund’s most famous cobblestone walking street.

Is the tour suitable for children? ▶

Children are very welcome, as long as they’re comfortable walking on their own for the full duration of the tour. Our tours involve walking on uneven ground, cobblestone streets and in some cases moderate inclines. If your child is an enthusiastic walker, they’ll love it. If you’re unsure, feel free to drop us a message and we’ll help you figure out the best option.

How big are the groups? ▶

Maximum 15 people. Why ? To make sure everyone has enough space and time to enjoy the experience. To welcome questions, to allow natural conversations.

What should I wear and bring? ▶

Ålesund’s weather is never fully predictable. We can experience all weather throughout the day. We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket and comfortable walking shoes as some streets are uneven and steep. We’ll send you a practical checklist with your booking confirmation. As Norwegians say, “there’s no bad weather, only bad clothes”!
